Dr. Louis DeSantis
Dr. Louis F. DeSantis graduated from the New York University College of Dentistry in 1984 where he was awarded the Academy of General Dentistry Award as the outstanding senior clinical student,The Sigma Epsilon Delta Award of Merit – Awarded for excellence, and highest honors in the field of Fixed Prosthodontics and The Bernard E. Rudner Memorial Award – for highest honors in family practice.
Dr. DeSantis completed his Postgraduate Training in Prosthodontics at the Montefiore Medical Center Albert Einstein College of Medicine earning his specialty certificate in Prosthodontics in 1993.
Dr. DeSantis maintains a full-time private practice in Staten Island NY. He is a Clinical Associate Professor and Senior Faculty, in the Advanced Education program in Prosthodontics at the New York University College of Dentistry.
Prior to this he served as chair of Prosthodontics, Department of Dental Medicine at the NY Methodist Hospital.
Dr. DeSantis has lectured nationally on different aspects of Prosthodontics.
Dr. DeSantis is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics earning board certification.
He is a fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists where he serves as the northeast regional director on the board of directors.
He is a fellow of the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, and the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics.
Dr. DeSantis is a past President and former Board member of the Richmond County Dental Society and in January 2015 he was honored by the Richmond County Dental Society with the lifetime achievement award at their 100th anniversary celebration.
